The ever-increasing number of Valve games made playable on Mac has been bolstered by another new title – Day of Defeat Source.
Day of Defeat offers intense online action gameplay set in Europe during WWII. Assume the role of infantry, sniper or machine-gunner classes, and more. DoD:S features enhanced graphics and sounds design to leverage the power of Source, Valve's new engine technology. Day of Defeat Source was originally released for PC in 2005 – up until now Mac owners haven’t been able to play it. It joins other Valve games ported over to Mac including Portal, Team. Day of Defeat: Source is a World War II multiplayer first-person shooter developed and published by Valve for the PC (with both a retail release and a digital Steam release) on September 26, 2005. It was later updated for Mac support on July 12, 2010 and Linux support on March 14, 2013.
Players who already own the PC game can download the Mac version for free via digital game service Steam. Developer Valve has also enabled cross-platform multiplayer which means both PC and Mac gamers can play each other online.
